[aclug-L] domain name question

ok, let's say i was to xfer to somewhere like..oh...kstate, and i was
going to hook into their ResNet LAN...  do i need to change my domain
name?  right now, i just put tabor.edu, but once i tried to change it
and it REALLY screwed up my system... paths were gone, apps didn't
run...  i changed in linuxconf, is there a better / safer way?
