Ok, this may be a stupid question, but I'm curious. Can you use a kernel
built on one LInux distribution on another one? For example, I have a Red
Hat 5.1 system with limited disk space and would like to get a kernel on it
that has support for SCSI/PPA to use my Zip drive, but I had to leave off
stuff like gcc and the kernel source to get the thing installed. Can I
build a kernel on my other machine, running Slackware, and put it on the Red
Hat system?

Thanks,
Greg
