i don't seem to have either wmconf or wmakerconf any other suggestion?
i guess it's an older version.
will the add-on work with an older version?

wmakerconf.  I believe it is not part of the main wmaker distribution
but an add-on package that integrates with it.  But I could be
completely wrong on that.
