[aclug-L] HELP!!!

i just compiled kernel 2.1.122, and got it going...BUT, when i boot, it
hangs on sendmail and SMB as if i didn't have a network connection... 
occasionally, i can get internet for about 2 minutes, then i can't... i
have NO idea what's going on, and would REALLY appreciate any help i can
get!!!
