Yes, cdda2wav will do the trick.  If you are reading data to make
another CD, you'd probably want to use cdparanoia.  But when makinng
an mp3, the extra expense of making the higher quality read (it takes
a lot longer) is not worth it since mp3 will probably cancel out the
gains anyway.
