different uuid encoding options

Hello
I am trying to use offlineimap with ifolder, www.ifolder.com, ifolder is a
file syncronization software.
However I am running into trouble with namespace collisions.  ifolder
considers a namespace collision when
two files have same name but not same case, and some other stipulations.
How would I go about recompiling
offlineimap and making uids just hex numbers or something similar to avoid
this problem.
