I found out what the problem was. The erroneus mails looked something like=
=20
this in the top of their header (emails anonymized):
=46rom from_email@xxxxxxxxxx Fri Dec 3 20:19:54 2004
Return-Path: <from_email@xxxxxxxxxx>
X-Original-To: my_email@localhost
Delivered-To: my_email@localhost.localhost
which is obviously wrong, how could i ever miss it (the From line). I reall=
y=20
wonder what messed the emails up like that?
I removed the bad line from all the emails and now it seems to work.
