it's the Qt toolkit by trolltech.  the default toolkit for KDE.

check for updates for the distribution of linux you are running...  then
update Qt accordlingly

mpegplay, smpeg, and a number of others can play mpeg files...  xanim can
play some AVI's (but no free movie player in linux can play files w/ the
Sorenson codec)...  i'm sure there are also divx players as well...  try
looking on freshmeat.net for the software you need.
