        Normally, scsi tapes under LINUX are something like /dev/st0 (for
rewind) or /dev/nst0 (for no-rewind).  You can look in the dmesg output
for SCSI tapes.  Also make sure you have the SCSI tape module loaded (st).  
You can use standard tar commands to write to the tape drive.  If you want 
to put multiple tars or dumps on one tape, you can use the no-rewind
device.
