Hello,
I'm setting up a linux box to be a bridge/firewall.
The HowTo I'm using: http://ac2i.tzo.com/bridge_filter/.
It tells me to apply a patch to my 2.2.17
kernel:
http://ac2i.tzo.com/bridge_filter/linux_brfw_2.2.17.diff
I'm having trouble (since I'm new at this) and I'd
really appreciate your help. I've made a backup of my
kernel, but I still don't want to screw it up.
I typed the command: patch -p0 <
/root/linux_brfw_2.2.17.diff
I'm getting an error message:
can't find file to patch at input line 4
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
The text leading up to this was:
------------------------------------
|diff -rc linux-2.2.17,orig/include/linux/firewall.h
linux/include/linux/firewall.h
|*** linux-2.2.17,orig/include/linux/firewall.h Tue
May 11 10:36:49 1999
|--- linux/include/linux/firewall.h Sun Oct 22
16:32:21 2000
------------------------------------
My linux kernel is /boot/vmlinuz-2.2.17
The firewall.h file it seems to be looking for is
located here: usr/include/linux/
I'm just not exactly sure how to modify
linux_brfw_2.2.17.diff to make it work properly.
I'd really appreciate your help,
Nathan
