[linux-help] Newbie

I am very very new.
I just installed mandrake linux 7.0 then I was having problems with my NIC 
card so I reinstalled it and now everything works fine..
So what can I do in linux..
Like with windows I knew what I can do but in linux I cant figure out what 
to do.
I like to play \d games like quake/halflife./ but I cant find either for 
linux...
so can anyone suggest what I should do in linux?

also what do yall do at your ACLUG meeting?
a dude in #linux-mandrake on efnet told me I should search for a local LUG 
thast how I find ACLUG....
