When I try it here, it works fine with both a 48SX and a 49G.
What model of calc do you have?  If it's a 49G, make sure it's
in RPN mode, not ALG mode.  

If you still have problems, send mail to the hpcomm mailing list,
and we'll arrange to send you a debugging version.
