There is a high-quality 96x48 tileset included in Freeciv 2.1.  To play 
with it before 2.1 is released you'll need to get the CVS version.  You 
can download a source snapshot or access it with CVS directly - see the 
web site for instructions.

There's also the Engels tileset which is also 2000 pixel resolution but 
is low-quality.
