On the pubserver, the 1.14.99-devel servers have been moved to the S2_0
branch and will remain so until the release.

Also, these servers are now authenticating. Servers at 5565, 5566 and
5572, 5573 allow guests. This means that you can log on with a username
of 'guest' and you won't have to give a password.

The metaserver for the 1.14.99-devel and better servers has changed. You
can find it at: http://meta.freeciv.org/metaserver.phtml

The meta commands have changed. /metainfo is no longer a command. In its
place are the /metatopic and /metamessage commands. They work the same way.

For those of you who haven't used development servers, there are few
changes to the login process. You do NOT log in as the name of the player
you want to play. You must log on either as a unique user or as a guest.
Once you are connected, do a /list and then /take the player you want.

Also there are no longer tv players. To observe a game, use the /observe
command. Without arguments, the command should create a dead player if one
has not already been created and attach you as an observer to that player.

See: /help take, /help detach, /help allowtake, /help observe

PS: for the immediate future, ranking is not tied to username. Rather it is
still tied to player (leader) name. Hopefully this will be remedied soon.
Until then you might want to pick your leader name to be the same as your
username in order to be ranked correctly.
