This sounds promising. However, I just did a "exp killc" cmd
(on the FreeCiv server) and read its output. That explanation of
the "killcitizen" option sounds different from what you describe.
I tried "set killc 15" in my current game of FreeCiv.
Unfortunately, the FreeCiv server wouldn't allow me to change that
option (because the game was already in progress). Still, I plan to
try it at the beginning of my next game.
However, based on the "exp" description, I'm not optimistic
that it will do what I wanted. Rather, I think that the "15" in
"set killcitizen 15" is a decimal representation of a 4 digit binary
number ('1111'b). That '1111'b is a representation of 4 binary flag
fields. Those flags specify which type of (successful) attacks will
cause a city to lose 1 population (per attack). Also, that
population loss may be suppressed if the city has built city walls.
I know that's true for ground unit attacks.
But I won't know for certain until I try "set killc 15" in a
game. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll let you know if it works.
