You probably need to install the development part of esd and sdl-mixer.
They are usually called esound-devel and sdl_mixer-devel or something
similar.

If you have done this and it still doesn't work, try 'whereis sdl-config',
'whereis esd-config', 'which sdl-config' and 'which esd-config' report the
results.
