Excellent!  I'll do some more work on packets then.  I'd like to go to
Esben's ideas for the architecture of the program, but it became apparent
that even with the code in beginning stages like this, it's a bit tricky to
make the changes all at once, so with his help, we can do it in small
chunks.

To be precise, what's being used at the moment is Jave 1.1.[67] with the
1.1beta3 version of Swing.  The basic reason Java 1.2 is not being used yet
is that it is not yet ported to a significant number of Unices and Linux.

I have no problem setting up a read-only CVS server for this project.  I'll
go ahead and do that and send a message to the list when it's ready.
