This is exactly the bug that used to exist.  When the client crashed,
the server would continue on for a turn and would autosave the game, but
in the savegame all players were turned to AI.

But this was fixed some time ago!  You should not be seeing this
behavior anymore, either in the 2.1 code or in the development version.
 I cannot find any way to reproduce the old flaw that turned players
into AIs.

So, what version are you running?  If it's the development (svn)
version, run "svn up" and "make" to make sure it is the most recent svn.
 If you can still reproduce this, then the bug must somehow still be
here.  If not (as I suspect) then this is just a lingering instance of
the old bug.
