i can play 40+ turns before it segfaults,
also, the client dies when i try to open the
science dialog.

what's the procedure for capturing the failure
and passing it to you guys?

1.  To make it easier you should work using the S2_1 branch of svn.

2.  Get a core file.

3.  Open with "gdb civclient core".

4.  Get a backtrace with "bt" and send it.
