[Freeciv-Dev] (PR#12327) Crash

Hi,

Freeciv crashed when I right clicked in the terrain to pan the view. 
Paning have worked with the new smooth pan feature. Updated from beta5 
to beta8 one or two hours ago, and continued on a save (Europe scenario).

When it crashed, the window did just disappear imedietly.

Install process:
as user:
$ ./configure
$ make
as root:
# cd ../beta5
# make uninstall
# cd ../beta8
# make install
