This might be overkill, but could be useful if you want finer control of
things.  

The problem with current code is that it is still essentially a black
box.  It is not clear how each terrain type is related to the three
mapgen parameters.  I assume this information is going to be added into
the ruleset eventually.  Also, those three parameters may not be enough
to cover more generalized terrain.  Again, I assume people already know
that.
