Hello,

We are in the process of removing (or at least making optional) most of
those annoying popup dialogs. The connection dialog is the first of
these popups you see when you start a new game. The game interface is
also pretty confusing due to all the useless elements onscreen at the
pre-game stages (useless nation info, turn done button, menus, etc). To
fix these usability issues, I'm bolting the connection dialog on the
toplevel window. Like most other games do.

This patch is still a work in progress, but it should have all the
necessary functionality present in the old connection dialog bar the LAN
tab. I'm still trying to decide which is the best way of integrating it. 

The intro screen is also fairly uninteresting. That will be the next
thing to improve upon.
