Clever.  Of course, this will require some code.  But once in, why 
restrict it to development versions?  The only reason you wouldn't want 
saving to happen often is that it slows down the game.

Or does it?  If the save happens after the start-turn is completed, then 
it happens while the client is drawing the graphics and the human 
players are going.  No wasted time.
