Which client are you using?  GTK+ 2.0 already has this, EXCEPT the text
color is the same as the background, so each technology required is only
visible when highlighted.  (This is just a minor annoyance for me, since
I'm so familiar with the tech tree.  It probably just requires tweaking
the resource file.)
