Replace XPM files in misc/ and trident/ with PNG files.
So, we have a first installment of PNG working.
First off, note XAW still won't work with PNG. If you're using the CVS
XAW client then either don't grab these latest changes, back up your XPM
files in ~/.freeciv, or grab xpm.tgz from the incoming directory [1] and
untar it into ~/.freeciv.
These changes should work with gui-gtk and gui-gtk-2.0. As always,
report any problems.
We still need to convert the isotrident files to PNGs. Since these will
never (in the forseeable future) be used with the XAW client, we don't
need to make them paletted PNGs. So I could just run 'convert' over
them. Or is there a better conversion mechanism?
Other tilesets may also begin to convert. From the point of view of a
tileset author, the immediate advantage of using PNG is that the windows
client can use your tilesets unmodified.
