I can verify that that is _not_ the case, as the machine I was building
on never had 2.13 installed.

Unless you're talking about different seemingly-random errors than mine
;)

I for one don't think doing `make maintainer-clean' or even doing an rm
-rf and checking out again is too steep a price to pay for me to be able
to build from CVS without some kludgey parallel installation of two
versions of autoconf.
