Well:
* it comes with gdk-pixbuf (Imlib replacement) in the source tarball.
* it has a fancy new text widget.
* fancy new list and tree widgets.
* allegedly doesn't flash while drawing anymore.
* they split the object system from gtk+ and added that to glib.
* new default theme.

Hmmm, can't remember anything else right now. Oh yeah, it will break
binary and source compatibility :-)
