You should know that by committing this you are essentially agreeing to
my plan of conversion.  Not that I think this is a bad thing, of course,
but you should know what you are doing.

I believe Ross and I are in agreement that it is better to get changes
done than argue about the best way to do them (although we argue anyway,
unfortunately).  So, whichever method is chosen, let us choose it
quickly and move forward with it.  I have been providing a series of
small patches to move step-by-step toward the goal; Ross has a large
collection which is practically there.  They both move toward many of
the same goals, but have different methods of getting there.
