No they're not ok. He is shot sounds very crude, as you are using shot as an
adjective. Would you say, "I am shot."

It's ok to say, "He is hurt." because hurt can also be an adjective. It's
also ok to say, "I am hurt." See the difference?

Which of these sound better?

When you normalize a vector you make is normal.
When you normalize a vector you make it normalized.

Or use normalize in another sense, "to make conform to a standard or norm":

I was a strange person, but now I'm normal.
I was a strange person, but now I'm normalized. (*)

I think that makes it easier to tell that "normal" is the proper adjective,
while "normalized" is not.

I was a strange person, but drugs and therapy normalized me.

In this sentence "normalized" is a past participle is used in the passive
voice. It's not an adjective.

I was a strange person, but drugs and therapy made me normal.

Here "normal" is an adjective, with "made" the past participle of the verb.
