[Freeciv-Dev] ANNOUNCE: Slackware packages for Freeciv 1.12.0

I've just uploaded new Slackware packages for Freeciv 1.12.0 to
ftp.freeciv.org. Freeciv has been split to multiple packages (common,
server and clients). Following files have been uploaded:

freeciv-1.12.0-client-gtk.tgz
        Gtk+ client package
freeciv-1.12.0-client-xaw3d.tgz
        Xaw3D client package
freeciv-1.12.0-common.tgz
        common files package
freeciv-1.12.0-server.tgz
        server package
freeciv-1.12.0.README
        README for these packages (included also in common package as
        doc/SLACKWARE_PACKAGE)
package_descriptions
        standard Slackware's installpkg package description file
        sorry for it's name, but it must be named package_descriptions
        (and must reside in the same directory as packages)

Contents of freeciv-1.12.0.README follows at the end of this message.

Please, change my email address on Download page from
sroh7497@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx to src@xxxxxxxx. It will be nice, if
someone will change it also in Freeciv sources. Thanks a lot.

Freeciv 1.12.0 Slackware packages (Aug 18 2001) notes

These packages were built on Slackware 8.0. They won't work on previous
versions of Slackware as distribution changed a lot between 7.1 and 8.0.

Packages structure is different from my last package for 1.11.4. Freeciv is
now divided into following packages:

freeciv-1.12.0-common.tgz       this package contains files needed by all
                                other packages (like locales, data files and
                                documentation)
freeciv-1.12.0-server.tgz       this package contains Freeciv server
freeciv-1.12.0-client-xaw3d.tgz this package contains Freeciv Xaw3D client
freeciv-1.12.0-client-gtk.tgz   this package contains Freeciv Gtk+ client

Freeciv server sources has been tweaked according to documentation to
include readline support (because Slackware 8.0 has readline-4.1 which is no
longer supported by Freeciv).

Only one client package is needed. Client binaries are civclient-xaw3d and
civclient-gtk. Last installed client package will set symlink to civclient.

Everything is installed under /usr hierarchy.

Note that these packages will override 1.11.4 package contents.
