[Freeciv-Dev] Plans for the 1.12.0 release

It is time for a 1.12.0 release!
To prepare freeciv for an actual release, we will first release a beta 
to get testing from a larger audience. No new features will be added 
during the beta period, and patches should be applied with caution.

I will try to release the beta tomorrow (June 29th).

The final release date is somewhat uncertain.
I will be going on two weeks holiday on july 9th, and we may decide 
freeciv is not ready/tested/bugfixed/translated enough for a 1.12.0 
release at that point.
Then it would be up to the other maintainers (who also have strange 
schedules) to push 1.12.0 out, or you could have to wait until I got 
back around july 24th.

The translators can update their translations during the beta period.
If any translators need extra time to finish their translation they 
should say so, and it will be taken into account.
