I disagree.  If you think newbies will be confused by "localhost", then
explain it in a README document somewhere, or have "F1 for help" on the
initial dialog, or anything... but leave "localhost" in the connection
dialog so that the rest of us aren't confused!

Again I disagree.  "Opponents" could easily mean other human beings.
If you're talking about AI opponents, then call them "AI opponents".
I think the vast majority of people who are clever enough to find Freeciv
in the first place know what AI is.  It's a very common term (at least
in English).
