For those who haven't noticed, the gtk+ client has been added to
freeciv cvs recently. Thanks a lot to Vasco Alexandre Da Silva Costa
<vasc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> for his continuing work on this.

Documentation is currently lacking; according to Vasco:

% Yes, the GTK+ client requires the following libraries to run:
%
% GTK+  >= 1.2.1                ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk/v1.2
% ImLib >= 1.9.2                ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/...
%
% What that imlib ftp site line means is that you should be able to find a
% recent enough imlib in any gnome mirror site which has the gnome-1.0
% release.

Using ./configure will compile the gtk+ client if configure detects
the appropriate libs, or otherwise fall back to Xaw. You can force
Xaw by "./configure --with-xaw".

Go forth and test/fix/improve/etc.

Regards,
-- David
