[freeciv-dev] Q's re distributing a modpack.

I presume that most of you are aware that I am working on an Ancients
"modpack" for FreeCiv. Since it seems to be the first modpack anyone
has done, I'll probably announce it in an "early alpha" version, just to
get more eyes looking at it sooner. But I've never participated in
software distribution before, so here are a couple of things I'm
concerned about -- I would appreciate any comments that any of you care
to make.
1) License: In order to satisfy the GPL, is it sufficient that I include
a copy of the COPYING file that comes with FreeCiv?
2) Feedback/discussion: In order to keep from generating too much
traffic on the developer's list, I was planning on announcing it on the
freeciv list, and asking people to limit their discussion as follows:
o For questions and suggestions about the content of the modpack,
people should either write me directly or else post to the freeciv list
if they think others will be interested in the topic.
o People should use freeciv-dev only for discussing situations where
better support for modpacks would require changes to the game engine.
Does that sound like the best plan for getting feedback without
cluttering up the lists too much?
Thanks,
Bobby Bryant

p.s. -- I've already got a mental list of things that could be done in
the game engine to support modpacks better; once I get the pack out I'll
write to freeciv-dev again with some things to discuss for possible
inclusion in future releases.
