I guess I should have posted this to the freeciv-dev list too.
(I assumed everyone there would also be subscribed to the
low-usage, announce-ish freeciv list too; perhaps not.)

The server involved is also the cvs server, so that is also 
affected.  (But not the mailing list server -- useful!)

According to Tracy Reed, the server which hosts www.freeciv.org
will have some downtime over the next few days.

The good news is that this is due to a re-organisation which 
includes moving the freeciv site to a different machine, which 
has a static IP address and a T-1 connection. :-) :-)
