Isn't the AI already advanced enought to stop being omniscient?
I feel quite "cheated on" by the omniscience, because it has
some collateral effects...

1: I usually spend the first few turns (and militar units I
eventually get from huts) exploring the world; the AI doesn't
need that and sends any military units right away to my cities

2: In the rare case when I can make a game against AI last, it
doesn't have to waste resources and research in Apollo etc

3: I have a real problem with mapping AI's territory, as it
always sends troops to kill my explores straight out; OTOH, it
already knows where all my cities are and what are the ones more
worth attacking (doesn't it know what is the capital too?)

I believe a non-omniscient (probably something you could set on
and off in the server, like difficulty - "omnisc Caesar") would
be a cooler alternative to newbies than "easy", as it would be
more realistic in teaching how to really play.
