I was clearing out my spam box and found a few messages that ended up
there instead of where they were supposed to go...

I have a question for the entire list. If you had some windows legacy
applications, but most of the enterprise is database related, which
distro of Linux would you recommend?? How stable is wine now? Can it
be trusted for most simple win applications. I have already switched
70% of the desktops to open office, and would love to trash most of the
os's also. I am open to all suggestions. My solution would probably
need to co-exist with windows as I phase it out. Also most of the
machines delivered are delivered with Microsoft os's. Right now I have
suggested that they take no deliveries of VISTA. I have wavered between
Mandrake or Ubuntu. Both are very friendly and can quickly made to
support applications with MySQL Using Java/PHP on the server.
