This may not be specifically germane to a Linux discussion directly, but I
figured there would be a few other people on this list that would have some
experience with hardware diagnostics. I mentioned this at the meeting Monday
night, but, I'm looking for some good low-level diagnostic software.
Ideally, I'd be able to use it to perform burn-ins of new hardware before I
deliver it to customers, as well as be able to troubleshoot specific
processor- or memory-related problems. Floppy-based would be good, but, I
also realize that more and more machines are being shipped without floppy
drives, so something that I could put on a USB flashdrive, or burn to a CD
would be better, I'd think. While I'm not necessarily looking for free, I
also just don't have the budget to throw four or five hundred bucks at the
solution, either.
