What about the classes offered @ Electrical Engineering, Computer Science
Departments( example: Unix & LANS, Assembly Programming(both at CS and EE
departments) Embedded Systems programming, Intro to Unix, etc.) 

Of course the above classes are for people who wants the programming
aspect(security, administration, etc.) If you need classes for beginners,
they offer very basic classes at Butler County Community College. That is
how I started. The gentleman who teaches the Linux class @ Butler of Augusta
was(maybe still is) a WSU student and ACLUG member. He is great. 

Other than that, Mr. Dennis M. Ritchie(the founder of C and UNIX) has a
tutorial on the web. This tutorial is very basic but very helpful. (the
tutorials are free for students on AT&T and Bell-Labs(Lucent TEch.)
archives.

I can't help here. Have not set one up myself yet.

You need to set up the correct printer driver for your printer.
Some of the newer printers are not yet supported but a ton of them are.

if you set up samba on the linux machine it can provide and use windows
shares that the other machines will have access to.  Read up on it and
you will find it is really powerful.

read up on fips (it is included on the dos utilities section of the
redhat linux distro CD)

if you do a defrag of the vfat partition so all the end of the partition
is free and no data gets lost then fips will let you resize the vfat
partition and create a new partition at the end.
