I think that they want you to install packages in the correct order.
Kde base is first then and an application package.
Then you can install what ever you want. Have you read the read me at
KDE.org on how to install?

Subject: [aclug-L] Software?

Someone suggested that I look into "IDE's" (Integrated Development
Environments) for my programming stuff. I did and I found an intriguing one
called KDevelop. Unfortunately, it requires KDE 2.x.

So, I've been trying to d/l that program, but I haven't been too successful.
Oh I've been getting the various .rpm files, of course. It's just that when
I try to run them and install them, they say that they need this or that
module first.

I then try to look up that module on http://www.linux.org 's applications
search engine. Unfortunately, I am generally unsuccessful in finding the
file I need.

Therefore, is there a site in Linux with all the software for download? Or
at least an index of mirrors? Something in the line of
http://www.download.com ?

Thanks!

BCH
