It is short for Cron Table. It contains the configuration that you
create to tell the cron deamon to run commands at specific
times. There is potentially a seperate crontab for each user on the
system. To create a crontab, enter the command crontab -e. This will
open up an editor that allows you to enter the configuration. You can
use crontab -l to view the current crontab. See the crontab man page
for the syntax of the commands. Also look at the crond man page for
more info.
