I tried it tonight, and indeed it does work as a generic modem. I've got to get
PPP set up, but I can at least get a terminal login. One thing I forgot to
mention earlier is that in order to use the phone as a modem you have to buy a
pricey ($79) cable kit for the phone, which when I bought it also comes with a
Windows software disk. It looks like they now offer a 'replacement cable' for
only $39.
