I am able to reach most sites on the internet fine, but there are a few
that I keep getting the same error messages from that I don't
understand. I am able to reach these same sites via windows just fine.
The configuration I am using is Redhat 6.0 and Netscape 4.72 via cable
modem (Road Runner ISP).

The errors are as follows:

First error is:
Warning. The host " " is unknown. This means that some or all hosts
will be unreachable. Perhaps there is a problem with your name server?
If your site must use a non-root name server, you will need to set
$SOCKS_NS Environment variable to point at the appropriate name server.
It may (or may not) be necessary to set this variable or the SOCKS host
preference, to the IP of the host in question rather than it's name.
Consult your system administrator.

The second error is:
Netscape is unable to locate the server
www.support.us.stardivision.com. Please check the server name and try
again.

This tells me that either my dns server is having problems with certain
site addresses or my configuration is set up in a way that is resolving
some addresses but not all addresses. I am not convinced that this is a
problem on my end.

Has anyone else encountered this? If so, can you point me to a
resolution?

Thanks.
