I am about to set up a Linux box to a friend. This PC is a Dell which I don't 
know
much about it. The only thing I know is that It got 1GB Hard drive.

She wants this machine just to do her programs and assignments from the CS
classes. My question is how can I partition the hard drive in order to install 
X,
and developments software?
