I have been trying to install Mandrake 6.1 on a 40 Meg disk - 8 Meg memory.
Set up root with 32 meg and /swap with 8 meg. Selected Custom, installed only
network and file managers packages.
Looked OK until:
"Install exited abnormally -- recvd signal 9
Sending terminate signal -- done
sending kill signal -- done
unmounting file system -- elements
/tmp/rhimage
/proc
you may now reboot system"
Couldn't reboot - got an "A:\" prompt.
Retried install with no packages installed. Then:
"Kernel panic:VPS: Unable to mount FS on 8:03" (8:03 was the time.)
Can Mandrake not be installed on that small a disk? Is the problem not enough
memory?
What LINUX can be installed in 40 Meg?
