Are you maybe set to a timezone on the other side of the world?
I'd investigate the system for a program that gets run periodically
(cron?) that may be (re)setting the clock.
Look into xntpd, a very cool program for setting and adjusting the
date to be in sync with a timeserver. I'd look into Jon's suggestion
of hwclock as well.  Low CMOS battery?
