Do SMC network cards work under linux? I'm sorry, I don't
know the model.

When you place a second NIC into a linux machine, how does
it know it's there? Is there some sort of install procedure
you must follow so that linux knows it's there? Do you just
set up a second ethernet connection (eth1) and point it at
the card?
