Let's scrap Doom and do Quake instead.

And I say lets scratch nettrek... that game has quite a learning curve. 
I've played it a bit, but do not know the game nearly well enough to want to
play at a LAN party.  That's the sort of game that takes several hours of
learning rules to play well.

FreeCiv is an excellent game.  It can be long, tho... but we can do things
to make it shorter.

And NetMaze is a great game, too.

And let's not do WINE stuff.  I a) don't know how, b) don't have the time to
learn how, and c) don't have any desire to learn how.  If I wanted to run
Windows programs, I wouldn't be using Linux. :-)
