[aclug-L] Hurricane Lenny builds strength

Hurricane Lenny grew stronger early Monday and after a shift to
east, may possibly threaten Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic
and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

At 7 a.m. ET (1200 GMT), Lenny was about 175 miles (280 kilometers)
south of Kingston, Jamaica, the National Hurricane Center said.

A hurricane watch was posted for the southern coast of Haiti and
watches are expected for Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and
the Virgin Islands later in the day.
