Indeed, the OSS package is well worth the cost if you have anything other
than the original jumpered Soundblaster.  I've run the OSS software with
PNP Soundblasters, ESS Cards and Yamaha cards.  All have been properly
detected and worked flawlessly. The OSS setup is much easier than the
kernel configuration.  Several of these cards I couldn't evem get working
with the kernel drivers.   YMMV
